GAINING HIGHER
MARTIAL ARTS RANKS

Instructors wishing to be upgraded to a higher rank within the International Martial Arts Alliance and recognised internationally must be a current financial member.

If an instructor belongs to another crediable association and they have been knocked back or failed in their grading with them, it this must be declared. We will assess instructors on their own merit however we will liase with other associations to find out if there is a ligimate reason for not being up graded. Instructors are not graded in a particular style they are recognised as a Black Belt /Sash who is the equivalent to other international instructors of similar ranks.

Our panel of judges (made up of up to five internationally recognised masters) believe it is an honour and preveledge to witness and be apart of your martial arts performance / grading. Results are registered in our international registry and kept for validation indefinitely. The exact grading format is tailored to each instructor and therefore discussed in private with each candidate.

The Process:
The International Martial Arts Alliance forms a creditable grading panel made up of Committee Members and Instructors that have selected by the candidate to evaluate each performance.

We generally adhere to the international ranking code as follows:

1st Dan - 2nd Dan = 2 years
2nd Dan - 3rd Dan = 3 years
3rd Dan - 4th Dan = 4 years
4th Dan - 5th Dan = 5 years
5th Dan - 6th Dan = 6 years
6th Dan - 7th Dan = 7 years

Costs are based upon each rank (certificate / registration fee), venue hire (if required) the panel of judges (some may or may not charge a fee). The total cost is worked out at time of submission and paid prior to testing.

Step One: Collate all of your training experience and create a resume with photo copies of all your grades, seminars etc.

Step Two: Create your own grading curriculum or use what you have in place and send it to us to evaluate.

Step Three: We contact the grading panel in your region and set up a time for your testing.
