COMPANY PROFILE
The International Martial Art Alliance (IMA) was established 15 years ago in 1993, under the name of the “Karate Alliance”. Developed as a special interest group for karate instructors it quickly spread to many other styles. Starting with just a dozen teachers it has grown to around 600 schools and associations covering all states of Australia and numerous countries.

The name change came about in 2003 to best represent the diversity of styles in the group. The “Alliance” is widely accepted because of its introduction of instructor training workshops where participants are encouraged to exchange ideas and techniques. This open minded and politically free training environment for instructors exploded with popularity drawing like minded teachers together. They have been continually developing their skills and networking with each other, thus keeping in touch with the martial art industry's eveloution.

The IMA is recognised as a highly creditable association with extensive resources to assist the martial arts industry. It is funding IMA TV / Magazine as a prime sponsor to help serve its members and the general public with martial arts related news and services.

The IMA is now the fastest growing martial art association in Australia growing from 13,000 to 40,000 members in just two years to reach it's present number of 61,000 in 2007. The “Alliance” has several staff and a full time facility to cater for the ever growing membership and business partnerships.

The IMA already has several business partners and sponsors but is mainly funded by subscriptions so that it can allocate the resources to meet its members requirements. You can be sure that the developers of the IMA mag know their industry with the producer having over 35 years experience.

Let Australia’s leading martial art teachers share their knowledge with you! Bring them home in your lounge room or office. Don’t try to piece together the gaps between moves in technical workshop sequences, watch them on video or as a animated picture file with voice over commentary.
